Saturday is the three year anniversary of the introduction of Josh Heupel as the Tennessee Vols' new head coach.
Heupel was hired in early 2021, after spending three seasons as the head coach at UCF, to replace Jeremy Pruitt.
The hire was met with mixed reactions at first -- mostly because Heupel wasn't considered a "hot coaching candidate" at the time after UCF went 6-4 in 2020 during a tough season that was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Heupel, however, has proven to be exactly the coach that Tennessee needed, bringing a much-needed culture change to Rocky Top while providing thrilling wins over Florida, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, etc.
On Saturday morning, Tennessee's official social media accounts dropped an incredible hype video that celebrates the anniversary of Heupel's hire.
"I'm standing up here today and you guys don't know me," says Heupel during his first team meeting with Tennessee's players. "I'm talking and they could just be words. As we move through this process together, you guys are going to find out that my words are going to be my actions."
Three years ago today, something special started.

It's been an incredible three years for the Volunteers. And like the video says at the end, the best is yet to come.
