The Tennessee Vols are reportedly losing a defensive back that saw a lot of action last season to the NCAA transfer portal.
ESPN's Pete Thamel reported on Thursday that Vols defensive back Jakobe Thomas is entering the transfer portal (the spring transfer window will close on Friday, April 25).
Thomas, who is from Tullahoma, TN, transferred to Tennessee ahead of the 2024 season after spending the first three seasons of his career at Middle Tennessee State.

Thomas, who has one season of eligibility remaining, played in 13 games for the Volunteers last season, totaling 22 tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack.

Thomas is a player that certainly would've played some important snaps for Tennessee in 2025. Losing him to the transfer portal isn't a deathblow to the Vols' defense, but it definitely hurts Tennessee's defensive depth.
