Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Trevor Duncan announced on Sunday evening, via an Instagram post, that he's medically retiring from football.
Duncan, a former three-star recruit from Knoxville, signed with Tennessee during the 2023 recruiting cycle.
"Thank you football. Brain damage and broken ankles later. Concuzz out," wrote Duncan in his social media post.
Duncan played three snaps at defensive tackle for the Vols in a win against UConn in 2023. He moved to the offensive line during spring practice in 2024.
"Huge for us. Length, explosive power, he's another guy that's a football player," said Vols head coach Josh Heupel when Duncan signed with Tennessee in late 2022. "He's extremely tough, he's about the right things. I love the intangibles that he's going to bring into the building. Can't wait to get him here. It's important that we recruit this state at a really high level. I mentioned that in my press conference the first day that I got here. Taking the right players that fit who we are and what we're about that also have the ability to play at a high level. I like what our staff has done here inside of this state in this recruiting class as we continue to build it. Trevor is a huge part of that."
