The Tennessee Vols are reportedly losing a key member of their quarterback room.
According a report from On3's Pete Nakos, Vols redshirt senior quarterback Gaston Moore is entering the NCAA transfer portal.
Moore, who started his career at UCF in 2020 (UT head coach Josh Heupel was the head coach at UCF at the time), transferred to Tennessee ahead of the 2021 season. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Moore operated as Tennessee's third string quarterback in 2022 and 2023. He was the Vols' top backup this past season.
The Hilton Head, SC native played the entire second half of Tennessee's win against Mississippi State in November after starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava was forced from the game due to the concussion protocol.
Moore completed 5 of 8 passes for 38 yards in the Vols' 33-14 win against Mississippi State.
With Jake Merklinger, who was a true freshman in 2024, expected to serve as Iamaleava's top backup in 2025, and with four-star quarterback George MacIntyre joining the program, there weren't going to be many snaps available for Moore in Knoxville next fall.
