The Tennessee Vols made an important, and somewhat under-the-radar, transfer portal addition in December that could end up paying major dividends for the program in 2025.

Before Tennessee played the Ohio State Buckeyes in the first round of the College Football Playoff last month, the Volunteers received a commitment from Arizona Wildcats transfer offensive lineman Wendell Moe.

Moe is a former three-star recruit from Long Beach, CA who played at Arizona for the first three seasons of his career (Moe has two season of eligibility remaining).

The 6-foot-2 offensive lineman started 27 games for Arizona.

Moe mostly played left guard for the Wildcats, though he also has some experience at right guard (Moe played 638 snaps at right guard and 122 snaps at left guard in 2024).

According to Pro Football Focus, Moe has played 1,019 pass block snaps since 2023 and allowed just one sack and three quarterback hits while earning a 88.4 pass block grade.

The Vols are losing several key members of their offensive line with center Cooper Mays, guard Javontez Spraggins, and right tackle John Campbell heading to the NFL.

Left guard Andrej Karic is seeking a sixth year of eligibility from the NCAA. Karic's status for the 2025 season remains unclear.

If Karic doesn't return in 2025, then plugging Moe in at left guard would be the obvious move for Tennessee. If Karic returns, the Vols' coaching staff would need to decide whether they want to leave Karic at left guard or move him to right guard so Moe could slot in at left guard. Karic also played some offensive tackle and tight end during his three seasons at Texas, so he's previously moved around a bit.

Regardless of which guard position Moe plays, he should be an immediate impact player with plenty of upside for Tennessee in 2025.
