The Tennessee Vols are working to swipe a four-star recruit from the Miami Hurricanes.

2025 four-star wide receiver Waden Charles has been committed to Miami since early September, but the Vols are hoping they can convince the Florida native to flip his commitment to Tennessee.

According to Rivals.com, Charles visited Tennessee in March. It was his first visit to a program other than Miami since announcing his commitment to the Hurricanes last fall.

“My experience in Knoxville was amazing,” said Charles to 247Sports of his recent visit to Tennessee. “The whole football staff is full of great people and I’m glad I got to meet most of them. What continues to excite me about my opportunity with Tennessee is that I love how they are so efficient and allow the receivers to have freedom and make big plays.”

From Rivals.com: A longtime commitment to local Miami, Charles remains on board with the program but he is starting to explore other college campuses in the meantime. Tennessee has begun to push for him and UT got him on campus in March for his first trip to a program not named Miami since he made the pledge to Mario Cristobal’s program.

Charles, 6-foot-2/185 lbs from West Palm Beach, FL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 11 athlete in the nation and the No. 42 player in the state of Florida.

Oddly enough, Charles is being recruited to Miami by Hurricanes wide receivers coach Kevin Beard, who previously served as the Vols' wide receivers coach in 2017.

Charles told 247Sports last month that he's still committed to Miami, but he wants to check out other schools to see what they're about.
