In their 2025 recruiting class, the Texas A&M Aggies found success by securing the No. 9 spot in 247Sports' composite team rankings. That class had 21 blue-chip prospects, recruits rated four- or five-stars, including their top-rated player, offensive tackle Lamont Rogers, a five-star offensive tackle from Mesquite, Texas.
The Aggies' 2026 class might wind up even better, although it's too early to say. Per 247Sports, they have the No. 2 class.
However, Texas A&M football received a disappointing update on Tuesday as four-star tight end Xavier Tiller decommitted from the program, opening up his recruiting. Tiller committed to in November. He holds 29 offers from the sport's top schools like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and more.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound playmaker caught 25 passes for 352 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore at Langston Hughes (GA).
The Fairburn, Georgia native, attended a Junior Day at Florida State in January, hinting he was considering reopening his recruitment. 247Sports' Christian Clemente also reported Auburn is heavily pursuing Tiller in an effort to flip his commitment.
The Aggies had a solid start to the 2024 season, winning seven straight after opening the year with a difficult 23-13 loss to Notre Dame. That seven-game win streak included wins over ranked SEC opponents like Missouri and LSU.
Unfortunately, Texas A&M football lost the plot, losing four of their last five contests, including a 35-31 defeat against USC in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Head coach Mike Elko is coming off his first season in College Station. The 2022 ACC Coach of the Year led the Duke Blue Devils for two seasons before landing at Texas A&M.
