Head coach Jeff Brohm and the Louisville football program have struck again in the transfer portal.

Jurriente Davis, a linebacker who spent last season at Texas A&M, announced Saturday that he has committed to the Cardinals. He was offered by Louisville earlier in the week, and is coming off of a visit to campus.

Davis is the fourth transfer commitment of the day for Louisville, following former Houston offensive tackle Reuben Unijeformer Oklahoma safety Daeh McCullough and former Georgia Southern offensive tackle Rasheed Miller. The Cardinals have landed five portal pickups over the last two days, with former Toledo running back Peny Boone committing on Friday.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound reserve linebacker didn't see much on-field time during his lone season with the Aggies, playing in just two games. He logged four assisted tackles against New Mexico in Texas A&M's opener on Sept. 2, then two solo tackles against Louisiana Monroe two weeks later on Sept. 16.

The Greensboro, N.C. native has been all over college football, having played at a different school in each year of his collegiate career. Davis spent his first season at Hutchinson Community College, logging 41 tackles, 7.0 for loss, 3.0 sacks and a pick to earn First-Team JUCO All-American honors.

Davis played at Middle Tennessee State in 2021, finishing fourth on the team with 68 tackles, as well as 5.5 for loss and three sacks. He then made the jump to Jackson State for the 2022 season, where he tallied the third most tackles on the team at 58, on top of 7.5 for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.

Linebacker wasn't a massive area of need for Louisville heading into next season, but Davis' addition only adds more depth and experience to a strong position on the roster. T.J. Quinn led the team in tackles, Jaylin Alderman had a good bounce-back season, Benjamin Perry was an X-Factor at STAR, Stanquan Clark showed flashes of brilliance as a true freshman and Antonio Watts made a handful of plays. Not to mention that Louisville will get a fully healthy T.J. Capers.

Louisville has now landed 21 transfer commitments in this cycle, while also seeing 18 scholarship players of their own enter the portal during the winter transfer window.

The Cardinals finished their 2023 season with an overall mark of 10-4 (7-1 in ACC) including a berth in the program's first ever ACC Championship Game, but ended year one under head coach Jeff Brohm on a three-game losing streak.
