Texas A&M has enjoyed an excellent 2025 season in large part because of Marcel Reed. The redshirt sophomore from Nashville has thrived through the air and on the ground, cementing himself as one of the top players in the college football.
In 12 games this season, Reed has completed 61.8% of his pass attempts for 2,932 yards with 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also finished the regular season with 466 yards and six scores on 89 carries.
With the College Football Playoff set to begin later this month, Texas A&M will take on Miami at Kyle Field. It'll be interesting to see how Reed handles a game of that magnitude.
Even though Reed has been great for Texas A&M, there might be some rumors about his future once the CFP wraps up. During an appearance on Robert Griffin III's podcast, he was asked if he'd transfer to Miami if the school offered him $4 million.
"I’d have to talk to my parents," Reed replied. "That's a real answer."
Despite his initial answer when asked about a hypothetical $4 million offer, Reed made it clear that he wants to stay at Texas A&M.
"I got offers after my freshman year. I thought this was the best place to be. I don’t think there’s any reason I need to leave Texas A&M. I have the job and it's mine to lose. I don't think I will, but there's no reason for me to leave. I have a great OC, a great coach, great players around me. We have the best stadium in college football. ... There's no need for me to leave and go anywhere else."
If Reed goes on an epic run in the CFP, he'll get a lucrative NIL offer regardless if he stays at Texas A&M or goes elsewhere.
