The No. 5 Texas Longhorns are preparing for a first-round matchup against the No. 12 Clemson Tigers in the College Football Playoff.
Following a loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game, the Longhorns had their eyes set on hosting a matchup in the first-ever 12-team postseason.
They're set to welcome the Tigers on Dec. 21 at 4 p.m. ET.
While the Longhorns are preparing to take the field against the Tigers, Steve Sarkisian and the staff have been actively recruiting during the first window of the transfer portal.
Sarkisian and Texas received a commitment on Saturday, helping revamp their defensive line.
Purdue defensive tackle transfer Cole Brevard committed to the national title contenders after three years with the Boilermakers.

Brevard began his career in University Park. He committed to the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2019 and enrolled in the university in 2020.
After a few years at University Park, he entered the transfer portal on April 25, 2022, ultimately choosing the Boilermakers in his first transfer portal entrance.
Out of high school, Brevard was ranked as the No. 19 defensive tackle and No. 206 overall player in the class of 2020, per 247 Sports.
In three years with the Boilermakers, Brevard recorded two fumble recoveries, 3.5 sacks and 39 tackles.
Brevard is now joining Sarkisian and his staff with one year of eligibility remaining.
After a couple of stops at Penn State and Purdue the 333-pound defensive tackle will look to help lead the Longhorns back to the College Football Playoff in 2025.
