The Texas Longhorns certainly had a successful 2024 season. They went 13-3 overall and even played the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game, losing 27-24.
Their regular-season performance was good enough to earn them the No. 5 seed in the College Football Playoff, but their national championship dreams were crushed when they lost 28-14 to No. 8 Ohio State in the semifinals.
Since their season ended, several key players have been declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, including quarterback Quinn Ewers, wide receiver Matthew Golden, and safety Andrew Mukuba.
One player who could have joined them was EDGE Trey Moore, but on Thursday, it was announced he'd be returning for his final year of eligibility.

This is huge news for the Longhorns because, in 2024, he recorded an impressive 36 tackles, one pass deflection, 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception.
This was also Moore's first year with the team after transferring from UTSA, where he'd spent the previous three seasons, accumulating 105 tackles, 36 TFLs, 22 sacks and nine pass deflections.
Moore was a huge piece in what led Texas to rank fourth in points per game allowed (15.3) and third in total yards per game allowed (283.4).
