Texas Longhorns football player broke his hand in bizarre, self-inflicted incident

The Texas Longhorns started welcoming back their football players this month in preparation for the 2020 college football season. Unfortunately, the team will be without safety B.J. Foster after he broke his hand in a bizarre and self-inflicted incident.

B.J. Foster, who recorded 22 solo tackles and an interception in 2019, found an unfortunate surprise recently when he went out to his car. The junior defensive back discovered another driver hit his car’s bumper and left visible damage to Foster’s vehicle. Even worse, the person never left a note to provide insurance information or even an apology.

Foster’s emotions got the best of him. Between seeing the damage to his car and knowing that someone did that without the simplest courtesy of a note, Foster unleashed his frustrations on the bumper. A bad day got even worse for him after that.

Texas football coach Tom Herman said BJ Foster fractured his hand after punching his car bumper. Herman said Foster discovered his car bumper was damaged and nobody left a note. That led Foster to punch his bumper. He’s currently in a cast.

The pain in his hand and the damage to his car will likely stick around for a while, but he shouldn’t be out of action for too long. Foster’s hand should be healed before August, giving him plenty of time to prepare for the upcoming season. Let’s just hope some good fortune comes his way soon.
