Tuesday was a busy day for Texas Longhorns football coaches.
Players were required to report for fall camp as practices officially begin on Wednesday, July 30. Texas' coordinators and assistant coaches were made available to the media on Tuesday to discuss the roster and upcoming season.
Longhorns offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Kyle Flood discussed numerous topics. One in particular caught the attention of many as Texas has seemingly struggled in red zone offense recently.
"That bothers us too as coaches," Flood said on the red zone mishaps toward the end of last season. "For us, obviously when we put a game plan together we want to execute the plays and score touchdowns in the red area."
Flood continued by pointing out their improvement in the red zone two years ago, although it's still not up to the standards that they hold for themselves at Texas. Overall, Flood stressed that each year is different due to new faces on the field and he will need to find out what works best for them.
"The players we're going to have when we go into Game 1 this year will be considerably different than the players we had at the end of last year. So, we've got a new group and we've got to find out what their strengths are as we go through training camp and ultimately design a game plan that works for them."

Fortunately for Texas, they'll have quarterback phenom Arch Manning at their disposal. Manning offers a bit more running ability than previous quarterback Quinn Ewers and could single-handedly get the Longhorns out of tough situations.
Texas will kick off the season in Columbus against Ohio State on Aug. 30.
