Texas Pushing to Flip Brother of NFL Star

The Texas Longhorns are doing everything they can to convince a current defensive back commit to flip.

That commit is none other than Justice Fitzpatrick, the brother of NFL star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since June 3, but that will not stop the Longhorns.

Fitzpatrick stated that Texas is the team that is making the second-best push for him to flip, behind the Miami Hurricanes via Rivals' Marcus Benjamin.

A flip to Texas would be a nice change of pace for the Longhorns after losing the race for four-star running back Amir Brown to Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

“I would say probably Texas,” Fitzpatrick said of the school that is pushing the second most for a flip. “It was Florida, but I think Florida simmered down because they could tell that I was really locked in with Georgia. They still try to talk to me here and there. Texas, they are still trying to build a strong relationship. With Texas and Florida, it’s kind of like just keeping the line open just in case something happens.”

The recruit is still giving the likes of Miami, Texas and the Florida Gators another chance, but is planning on visiting with them during the 2025 season.

Fitzpatrick is a four-star prospect and the No. 7 corner in the Rivals Industry Rankings for the 2026 class. He attends St. Thomas Aquinas in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The talk about Texas this offseason has been about starting quarterback Arch Manning, who has been the backup for the last two seasons. Urban Meyer weighed in on the pressure the young quarterback must face, stating there was no one under more in recent years.

Manning and Texas take on the Ohio State Buckeyes to open the year on August 30. Kickoff is at Noon ET on Fox.
