The NFL Scouting Combine begins on Thursday as players aim to improve their draft stock.

One big name not participating in drills during the Combine is Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders

Another player whose status had been a bit uncertain was Texas Longhorns signal-caller Quinn Ewers. However, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network gave a major update on the Texas quarterback on Tuesday.

"Another quarterback I can tell you will throw is Texas' Quinn Ewers," Pelissero said. "I'm told that he's fully recovered from a torn oblique that he played with basically this entire season."

Pelissero said Ewers has been working in Texas with former Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy.

Ewers suffered the injury in the game against Michigan in September, per Pelissero, and he ended up leaving the UTSA game early and missed the Louisiana-Monroe game as Arch Manning got the start.

Ewers helped lead Texas to the College Football Playoff semifinal before losing to Ohio State, the eventual national champions.

The Texas QB finished with 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

In January, Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports had Ewers ranked as the No. 5 QB in the class with Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jalen Milroe and Jaxson Dart going 1-4, respectively.

Now, with Ewers fully recovered from the injury, he has a chance to garner some attention at the Combine.
