The 'FBS college football nicknames' quiz

College. Football. Is. Back.

With the North Carolina Tar Heels taking on the TCU Horned Frogs in the Aer Lingus Classic in Dublin, the college football season gets underway with Week 0 on Saturday.

UNC – entering their second year under Bill Belichick – enters the game hoping to get people talking about their actual team rather than all of the noise off the field, while TCU is looking to win a season opener against North Carolina for the second year in a row.

The Tar Heels are coming off of a dreadful 4-8 campaign, losing to these Horned Frogs 48-14 at home in Belichick’s college coaching debut. TCU, meanwhile, rode the momentum of that victory to a 9-4 season capped off with an Alamo Bowl win over No. 16 USC.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. 138 teams compete at the FBS level of college football, the highest in the nation. How many of those teams’ nicknames can you name in 10 minutes?

Good luck!
