A mid-September meeting with Florida in Tiger Stadium along with October home games against South Carolina and Texas A&M highlight LSU’s 2025 football schedule.
The league office revealed the playing dates for next year’s conference schedule on Wednesday night.
LSU opens league play on Sept. 13 in Tiger Stadium against Florida. LSU hosts South Carolina on Oct. 11, Texas A&M on Oct. 25 and closes out the league home slate against Arkansas on Nov. 15.
On the road, the Tigers travel to face Ole Miss on Sept. 27, Vanderbilt on Oct. 18, Alabama on Nov. 8 and Oklahoma on Nov. 29 in what will be LSU’s first game in Norman.
LSU’s schedule features two open dates – Oct. 4 and Nov. 1. The first open date comes before the South Carolina game, while LSU will have its traditional open date the week prior to the Alabama game.

The remainder of LSU’s 2025 schedule had previously been announced with the Tigers opening the year at Clemson on Aug. 30. That game marks LSU’s first trip to Clemson and the first time the teams will meet during the regular-season. All four previous meetings between the teams have come during the postseason, which includes a 42-25 LSU win in the CFP National Championship in 2019.
LSU opens its home season on Sept. 6 against Louisiana Tech. Other non-conference games for the Tigers in 2025 include Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 20 and the home finale against Western Kentucky on Nov. 22.
Development in Baton Rouge:
Brian Kelly and the LSU staff continue working to construct a National Championship caliber roster in Baton Rouge.
After seeing multiple impactful freshmen in 2024, it's about continuing to develop in order to hit the next gear moving forward.
Kelly alluded to the youngste rs stepping up and what can be in the future for the LSU football program.
“There’s seven players with one year experience on defense that just beat the pants off of Oklahoma, that’s pretty good,” Kelly said after the win over Oklahoma. “They’re 5-3. We played a lot of young players this year. When you take the body of work, we had three games where we had the lead late in the third quarter. I could go on and on about here’s where we’re going to be in January. Yesterday, at the hotel, 21 true freshmen made the travel roster. We’re going to introduce 16 mid-year freshmen into this roster. That’s what our roster looks like. That’s exciting. That coupled with key players coming back, that’s what is pretty exciting. When we’re finished with this roster, this roster will compete at the highest level.”
Now, LSU has received the 2025 slate via the Southeastern Conference wit h the Bayou Bengals looking to put the 2024 season in the rearview mirror.

The highest-paid college QB has been revealed
College football is a big business these days, and quarterbacks are among the biggest beneficiaries in the system. Just look at the numbers. On3’s Pete Nakos released a list on Thursday of their site's valuations for how much money each quarterback in college football could be making. They have Arch Manning as the runaway leader with a valuation of $6.8M. Carson Beck, who was enticed to leave Georgia and transfer to Miami, is second at $4.3M. No other quarterback on the list has a valuation greater than $4M, though everyone else in the top 10 has a valuation above $3M. Those are estimated figures about a quarterback’s NIL value based on their popularity, name recognition, demand as a transfer and social media following. There is plenty of money to be made in college football, which is why many quarterbacks who have questionable futures as a professional try to extend their eligibility. Some have even taken a legal route to stay in school longer, which is a concept that would have been unheard of years ago. Manning having the highest valuation at nearly double many of the other top quarterbacks is not a surprise. He is going to be the starting quarterback at one of the most premium-brand schools in Texas. He also has more name recognition than anyone in college football since he is carrying on the Manning family quarterback legacy. Manning does not take full advantage of his ability to make money and instead is more selective about what endorsement deals he signs. He was even able to negotiate with EA Sports separately to appear in their video game. The real trick for Manning will be to live up to the hype. Texas has made the College Football Playoff two years in a row, including the national championship game last season. The only way to exceed that is by winning it all this season.

Ronika’s post drew plenty of comments, including one from Mrs. Musgrave, who wrote “UNREAL.” It’s great to see Packers players’ wives showing support for each other just as Love and Musgrave do on the field. For Musgrave, he is looking to have a big rebound in 2025 after only appearing in seven games and coming up with 45 receiving yards with zero touchdowns and only a couple of first downs on seven receptions and 10 targets. The Packers, who will play the Seattle Seahawks at home this Saturday for both teams’ 2025 NFL preseason finale, will face the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field in Week 1 of the 2025 regular season.
Chicago Bears star says coaches are 'overdoing' it at practice
The Chicago Bears roughed up their preseason opponents, the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, at joint practices this month. Cornerback Jaylon Johnson said the coaching staff has been trying to walk the line of being aggressive but not going overboard. Sometimes the Bears are going too hard, overdoing it at times. “I mean, even (defensive coordinator) Dennis Allen, he’s telling defense we live every day in practice,” Johnson told Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson during an appearance on “Night Cap” Thursday night. “So just really that mentality, as far as going and playing physical is, like, really, just honestly overdoing it really is the thing… What we say, like, toe the line, toe the line line between going too far and really pushing the limits.” Jaylon Johnson notices a big difference in the 2025 Chicago Bears Johnson has missed much of training camp due to a leg injury. He missed the physical practice between the Dolphins and Bears that had Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald complaining about how Allen was coaching up his defense. Johnson said that the entire coaching staff under new head coach Ben Johnson wants a tough and physical culture like has been seen in recent years with the Detroit Lions. “We’re gonna execute,” Jaylon said. “And it’s like, nah, it’s just about whooping the guys in front of you, like, really, like dominating and instilling your will. And I think really just preaching that goes a long way. Because I feel like even in Detroit, for a long time, they didn’t have talented guys, but they had a lot of guys that had grit, as they like to say over there, and guys that work hard, that are tough, and things like that.” Johnson is embracing the change. The Bears should. Dan Campbell’s teams have been successful in recent years in Detroit. The culture is certainly better than the one that folded under Matt Eberflus last season.
Former Yankees Outfielder Rips Aaron Boone, Brian Cashman
The New York Yankees have been having a rough couple of months, losing their once-dominant lead of the AL East. Now, both Yankees manager Aaron Boone and general manager Brian Cashman are on the receiving end of some tough words by a former player, outfielder Clint Frazier. Boone has been criticized by a number of analysts (not to mention Yankees fans) for lineup and mid-game moves that range from head-scratching to downright bizarre, especially for a team that has been having a hard time securing wins. Cashman has repeatedly defended Boone, arguing that is knowledge of the players' capabilities is driving his decisions. To Frazier, Cashman's defense of Boone is self-serving because Cashman is the person who is responsible for Boone's tenure as manager. “When Cashman comes out and gives support to Boone, lowkey, I kind of feel like that’s self-preservation,” Frazier said on his podcast. “I know his resume is insane, but when he gives the confidence boost to Boone, I was saying ‘he’s got to, because Booney is the frontline of defense for him. I brought this guy in, and I have to support him, because he’s my guy.' Boone is Cashman’s shadow a little bit." Frazier, who played for the Pinstripes from 2017 to 2021, went on to discuss the Yankees' playoff chances, criticizing Boone for his lineup and mid-game decisions, which he claims will impact the team negatively during the post-season. “You need to make sure that you aren’t walking into it with bad decisions, because these are the decisions they’ll be doing in the playoffs,” he said. “They’re going to be way more under the microscope in the playoffs... You’ve got to make sure that you’re buttoned up and ready to go. If you start firing from the hip, it becomes a mockery of what every guy is trying to do.” While the Yankees are doing better now than they were at the time of Frazier's comments, surpassing the Boston Red Sox for second place in the AL East and securing the top spot in the AL Wild Card standings, they still aren't consistent. For New York to secure a trip to the World Series for the second year in a row, they're going to have to play better, which requires Boone to make better decisions.
