The Oregon Ducks get one step closer to landing elite 2026 five-star that they have made an absolute priority in the recruiting class

When it comes to 2026 recruiting, head coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are busy pursuing an impressive list of targets. Among the biggest priorities on the board, there may not be a bigger target than five-star Baltimore (Md.) Georgetown Preparatory School offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, quite literally.

Viewed as the front runner for some time now, the Ducks just moved one step closer to landing the massive offensive lineman. They were named one of his four finalists on Friday. Oregon was joined by LSU, Penn State, and Auburn among the final group.

Iheanacho is considered to be an elite level recruit by multiple of the major recruiting platforms. That includes the On3 Industry ranking, which currently has him rated as the No. 2 overall player, and No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2026 recruiting class behind Cantwell. The Maryland native also sits as a five-star player on the 247Sports Composite ranking, pegged as the No. 6 overall player and No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the country.

Outside of Oregon, a long list of impressive programs have pursued the 6-6.5, 345-pound behemoth. Some of Iheanacho’s other top offers include Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas, Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC, Texas A&M, Florida, Florida State, Nebraska, Penn State, and Ole Miss among many others.

As of today, Oregon is viewed as the favorite for Iheanacho, and several prominent recruiting platforms seem to believe so. The Maryland native will be taking official visits to Auburn (June 6-8), Penn State (June 13-15), and Oregon (June 20-22), and is fresh off of a visit to LSU last weekend. Iheanacho has his commitment date set for August 5.

From a physical perspective, you won’t find many more impressive looking than Iheanacho. He is a massive offensive lineman that some teams view as an offensive tackle, and others see him eventually moving inside to guard. For being a huge lineman, Iheanacho has some impressive movement skills. There is so much upside to tap into, whether he sticks at tackle or moves inside.
