For the first time in a long time, Alabama is not a pillar of stability in the college football world. Nick Saban has moved on, and with his exit, so too did plenty of key players from Alabama's roster.
Still, Tuscaloosa is always going to be a hotbed for pro football talent, and new head coach Kalen DeBoer may not be Saban — because, simply put, nobody else could be — but he's a great recruiter and talent-developer in his own right.
Here are the top three Alabama prospects to watch ahead of the NFL Draft, which begins April 24, 2025:
Bleacher Report NFL Scouts Brent Sobleski and Matt Holder on Milroe: "Makes plays with his legs and big arm"
Prospect ranking: PFF (No. 39), Tankathon (No. 34), Pro Football Network (No. 85)
In the 2023 season, Milroe took some major in-season strides from a home loss to Texas and an in-game benching against South Florida to signature wins over Auburn and Georgia and an oh-so-close bid for a spot in the national championship game. With another year under Saban, he may have been a first-round shoo-in, but will DeBoer be able to coax him towards the same type of progression?
Of course, only time will tell, and draft analysts are split on Milroe. There's good reason for it, too — even without a truly elite Alabama receiving room like ones we've seen recently, Milroe was one of the most effective deep-ball passers in the country last year and brings game-breaking ability with his legs, but shows a lack of polish in the short and intermediate passing game.
If he's able to keep the ship steady with Saban gone, however, it's nearly impossible to say how high he could go. As the saying goes, you can't overdraft a true franchise quarterback, and all it takes is one team to take a shot on his undeniable talent and tools.

ESPN's Matt Miller on Booker: "The best guard in the nation"
Prospect ranking: PFF (No. 50), Tankathon (No. 31), Pro Football Network (No. 42)
In today's day and age, the value seems to be placed more on tackles in terms of offensive line prospects — Booker is PFF's top-ranked guard and only the 50th overall prospect. However, being the best of the best at your position carries plenty of weight, and NFL teams certainly still understand the importance of building a strong interior line.
Booker looks to be exactly that: the best at his position or very close to it. At 6-foot-5 and 350 pounds, Booker certainly has the frame to be a major force at the NFL level, and he's shown impressive lateral movement for his size, particularly key for systems that like to frequently pull, but a boost to any offensive line.
Due to the dichotomy between his overall and positional ranks, it's hard to know exactly where Booker might get picked. Last year, there was only one guard picked in the first two rounds, a range into which Booker should certainly fall. The question is, how high up and to whom.

Pro Football Network's Ian Cummings on Sabb: "Intriguing multi-phase skill set"
Prospect ranking: PFF (No. 82), Tankathon (No. 92), Pro Football Network (No. 68)
You've certainly heard someone say, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em," but have you ever heard of beating 'em and joining 'em anyway?
Sabb, who played for Michigan last year and made a big play against Alabama in the Rose Bowl before putting in his signature college performance against Washington in the national championship game, transferred over to the Crimson Tide in an effort to earn more playing time and boost his draft stock.
Sabb didn't play too many snaps for Michigan, as he was largely an understudy to Rod Moore, but he did a great job of stepping in when needed, displaying the type of mentality needed to succeed in the early stages of an NFL career. There are a few areas of Sabb's game in which he could improve to raise his draft stock, such as zone coverage and linear speed, but his big frame and on-ball skills could make him a formidable pro safety and a great mid-round value in this year's draft.
