On Thursday the NFL Players Association announced the list of 42 rookies who will be participating in the 31st annual Rookie Premiere presented by Panini America. This is a yearly event that brings together the most exciting new rookies for a week of major business immersion and professional development.
It comes as no surprise that 1st overall draft pick Cam Ward will be amongst those in attendance. His new teammate though, 4th Round WR Elic Ayomanor, will be joining him as well. You can read the full list of attendees right here. Despite being a Day 3 pick, it's no surprise to see the notoriously sharp Stanford man Ayomanor involved in a business event such as this.
The 4-day event joins players and business partners to focus on Content Creation and Product Experiences. Brand development is the name of the game, and the lengthy list of corporate partners who are involved will be there to build connections with this next generation of NFL stars.
On the list of attendees from the business world are EA Sports, Fanatics, New Era, Nike, Sony, Oakley, WHOOP, Lululemon, Gatorade, Gillette, Pepsi and more.
NFL Players Inc. President Matt Curtin said of the event “NFLPA Rookie Premiere gives our partners a rare chance to meet the next generation of stars not just through the draft buzz, but through real conversations and real connections. Over the weekend, you see who these rookies really are – their energy, their personality, their drive – and it sparks ideas for how to build with them. This class already understands the power of their personal brand, and Rookie Premiere helps turn that into lasting business relationships.”
Most notably on social media, the NFL Rookie Premiere is the first glimpse we get of each player in their new NFL uniforms. It provides a unique snapshot of the class repping their new teams, all on the same field for photo and marketing opportunities. Panini America, the presenting sponsor of the event, is a trading card company. Football cards and collectables are at the heart of this event, and this first photo shoot of the top new names in the league end up on very valuable rookie cards when these future stars break out in the professional ranks. The Titans hope they have two of them.
