Arizona State has worked the high school football recruiting hotbed of Texas and garnered a commitment from talented running back Cardae Mack out of Atascocita High School in Humble, TX.
During his official visit this weekend in Tempe, Mack gave coach Kenny Dillingham his verbal pledge to join the Sun Devils in the Class of 2026. Nationally, 247Sports ranks Mack among the top 20 at the position.
Ranked among the Top 40 players in all of Texas, Mack turned in a productive season in 2024. At 5-foot-9, 195 pounds, Mack played quarterback and running back for the Eagles (12-2) and gained over 3,700 total yards of offense and scored 40 touchdowns.
For his efforts, he earned District 23-6A MVP. Over the past two seasons, Mack has accounted for over 5,000 total yards and 58 TDs.
Mack is the next in a long line of talented players from the Houston metro area. With that kind of production, it’s no wonder Mack was on coaches’ radars across the country. He received 28 scholarship offers, but wants to play in the Valley of the Sun for Dillingham.
With the success at running the ball last year with Cam Skattebo, and the energy and culture that Dillingham brings to the field, it seemed to be a no-brainer for Mack. It did not hurt that Skattebo was drafted into the NFL by the Giants in the 4 th round this weekend.
Mack is the only running back in the Sun Devils Class of 2026, a class which 247Sports currently ranks 16th in the country.
