USC football is hosting a star-studded visitor lineup for the weekend of April 12 -- one filled with blue chip recruits. That includes a top five Florida prospect making his way to the Pacific time zone.
The Trojans are inviting Trenton Henderson on the campus, with Tom Loy of 247Sports confirming his visit Saturday. Loy adds this could swing USC into Henderson's list of favorites.
"This is a big trip for the 6-4, 225-pounder from the class of 2026 and the Trojans staff. As of today, he has official visits lined up for Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Vanderbilt and Auburn. A good trip out West and USC could line one up as well," Loy said.
The Trojans and head coach Lincoln Riley are prioritizing Henderson and the edge rush room for this recruiting cycle. The Pensacola native ranks as the state's No. 3 overall recruit by 247Sports. He's also the nation's third-best edge rusher.
"Sprouting linebacker that can get after the quarterback as he comes screaming around the corner," wrote 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins.
Henderson already brings intriguing size and athleticism with his 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame. Ivins dove into where Henderson's field future could lie.
"Future could very well be in an on-ball role as a two-point edge rusher in an 3-4 look, but is rather comfortable dropping into space and has the chase speed to make stops outside the hashes, which suggests that he could also trigger from an off-ball perch," Ivins said.
Henderson piled an astonishing 18 tackles for a loss last season. He also added 10 sacks and broke up six passes.
USC sits at 22 total verbal commits, which leads the nation. Henderson would become the first commit from the Sunshine State if he chooses USC. He holds 31 total offers.
