USA TODAY Sports

Former Oklahoma commit and Texas native Jonathan Hatton Jr. has made his decision on where he will play next season.

The 4-star running back verbally committed to Texas A&M, choosing the Aggies over several top programs, including Alabama, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. Hatton originally committed to Oklahoma during his sophomore year, but he later decided he may have made his decision too early. Wanting to explore all his options, he reopened his recruitment and eventually chose Texas A&M as his future home.

Listed at 6 feet, 205 pounds, Hatton is expected to make an immediate impact in the Aggies’ offense under head coach Mike Elko. Known for his blend of speed, power, and vision, Hatton brings a dynamic skill set that should give the Aggies a dangerous weapon in the backfield. His ability to break tackles and accelerate quickly through the line of scrimmage makes him a major threat to opposing defenses.

Hatton has long been regarded as one of the top running backs in the country, and his rankings reflect that. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is ranked as the No. 75 player overall in the nation, the No. 5 running back, and the No. 10 player in Texas. His accolades and versatility have earned him praise from coaches and analysts alike, with many expecting him to be one of the standout freshmen in college football.

By committing to Texas A&M, Hatton joins an Aggies program eager to continue its upward trajectory. His decision adds another elite talent to the team and reinforces the growing excitement surrounding Texas A&M’s future.
