Collin Klein and the Kansas State Wildcats have gone fishing for a big one, and this time, it comes by way of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, with star pass rusher Wendell Gregory heading to Manhattan, Kansas.

Gregory, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound edge rusher from Marietta, Georgia, is coming off an explosive freshman season with the Cowboys, where he recorded significant defensive pressure rates. In 2025, the Georgia native posted 27 total tackles, four sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup.

Due to his impressive performance in his freshman year, Gregory was regarded as one of the top-ranked players in the transfer portal on 247Sports. He checks in as a four-star prospect and the 67th-ranked player available. He also checks in as the 11th-ranked player at his position.

Coming out of Walton High School in the Class of 2024, Gregory was listed as a four-star prospect and a consensus Top 200 player. He signed with the South Carolina Gamecocks, but recorded just one tackle and redshirted. He then transferred to Oklahoma State as a redshirt freshman and found his way into the spotlight.

For Kansas State, the move is massive. Gregory goes a long way to fill some of the offseason departures along the defensive line in Manhattan, namely Chiddi Obiazor and Tobi Osunsanmi, both of whom signed with Indiana in the transfer portal to play for Curt Cignetti.

With the addition, Kansas State now checks in with the 31st-ranked portal class in the country and the sixth-ranked class in the Big 12. Gregory headlines a total of 20 new faces heading to Manhattan to play for first-year head coach Collin Klein.
