Deion Sanders and Colorado are working to get another top player in Boulder. After landing a five-star in every recruiting class over the past four years, can it happen again?
With just two players in the Buffaloes' 2026 class, the rush is on to build before another transfer portal haul. They recently visited with five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan. The Alabama high school prospect came to Boulder and the Colorado recruiting staff followed up with him at home this week. Outside of that, former USC commit and top linebacker Xavier Griffin remains on the Buffs radar.

But Sanders and his staff are also courting top overall player Zion Elee. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound EDGE at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland is the The type of 3-4 outside linebacker who could be a day one starter at the P4 level.
Many scouts say he has "NFL Draft first-round upside" as a junior in high school. Elee racked up 56 tackles (28 for loss), 10 sacks, seven PDUs and three forced fumbles last year. Not bad with another prep year left on the books.
Elee has over 40 offers with several powerhouses on the list, including Alabama, Texas, Georgia, and Ohio State. However, he's currently committed to Maryland. While Sanders and Co. might be late to the party, they've proven to pull out some massive recruiting wins in the final stages.
