Texas quarterback Arch Manning has been turning heads since the moment he stepped onto a college field—and now one of the NFL’s most respected voices just pushed the hype to another level.
NFL draft analyst Todd McShay didn’t hold back in his latest breakdown of the sophomore signal-caller, labeling him as one of the most complete quarterback prospects in a long time.
“Two aspects stand out to me,” McShay wrote on Monday. “First: This guy has it all, talent-wise. I’m not saying he’s Lamar Jackson as a runner or that he has Josh Allen’s arm, but Arch is tooled up. His combination of prototypical size, mobility, an excellent release, and his natural accuracy—it’s all there for him to be a great player."
McShay also praised Manning’s growth over the course of last season, noting his poise and ability to learn from early mistakes.
“The more he played, the fewer negative notes I had, and the more impressed I was at his ability to avoid making the same mistake twice,” McShay added. “That points to a guy who’s hungry and coachable.”
After backing up Quinn Ewers in 2024, Manning appeared in 10 games, completing nearly 68% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and just two interceptions.
With Ewers now gone, the Longhorns are turning the offense over to the former five-star recruit—and the pressure is on.
Still, between his family pedigree, elite physical tools, and a QB-friendly system under head coach Steve Sarkisian, Manning is in a prime position to succeed.
“Arch is in as good a position to succeed as any QB prospect in recent memory.”
