In a decision that Florida State fans will find unfortunate but perhaps not surprising, the school has just seen prized four-star quarterback Tramell Jones decommit from the Seminoles football program.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Jones has decommitted from Florida State ahead of the upcoming Early Signing Period. He joins a growing list of about a half-dozen prospects who have decommitted from Mike Norvell's program since this train wreck of a season began.
"BREAKING: Four-Star QB Tramell Jones Jr. has Decommitted from Florida State, he tells me for @on3recruits. The 6’1 200 QB from Jacksonville, FL had been Committed to the Seminoles since April 2023. Was named an Elite 11 Finalist this summer," Fawcett wrote on X.

247Sports rates Jones as the No. 237 prospect in the Class of 2025. He is the No. 21 quarterback in the nation and the No. 36 player from the state of Florida.
The outlet is now projecting that Jones will commit to the Florida Gators when he's ready to announce his decision.
As for the Seminoles, the decommitment of Jones is yet another blow to a recruiting class that features only a dozen recruits so far. That recruiting class currently includes five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas and recently added the edge rushing tandem of Darryl and Mandrell Desir, but doesn't really set the school up for long-term dominance.
At 1-9 on the season and with only two games left in the season, head coach Mike Norvell could have only a few weeks left at the school. If he gets fired, who knows what the players that are currently in the recruiting class will do?
