Transfer gets Alabama script A tattoo after transferring

Devan Thompkins is all in on Alabama being his new home ahead of his first season with the Crimson Tide.

Thompkins transferred to Alabama from USC after four seasons with the Trojans. It did not take him long to feel a brotherhood was alive and well in Tuscaloosa, and this prompted him to get Alabama permanently printed on his arm with a tattoo.

“I got it, I would say it was like May 8th,” Thompkins said during an interview with the Crimson Tide Sports Network. “I think that was the day. I got it because, shoot, I got that USC one too, but I got this one because it’s obviously where I’m gonna be drafted out of, and I felt a real brotherhood already since being here, and I feel like it’s gonna be a part of my legacy that I’m continuing to build every day. I had to get that script A.”

Thompkins is expected to be starter and a key member of the Tide’s defense this fall.

The USC transfer recently told reporters he decided to transfer to Alabama because he felt he needed something different.

“I did four years at USC, graduated over there.” Thompkins said. “I had great times over there, I just felt like it was something that hit me that it was something different I needed. So I decided to weigh my options out, and Alabama came up on top.”

Thompkins will play his first game as a member of the Crimson Tide Saturday when Alabama takes on East Carolina.
