The Jerry Rice Award is one of the top FCS post-season honors, which is annually given to the top freshman in the country. Some of the recent winners include WR Cooper Kupp (Eastern Washington), QB Cam Ward (Incarnate Word), QB Shedeur Sanders (Jackson State) and RB Chase Edmonds (Fordham).
Another winner worth mentioning is running back CharMar Brown (North Dakota State), who won the award last year and then transferred to Miami. This season with the Canes he has rushed for 234 yards and four touchdowns. Brown magnifies the importance of the released 22 player watch list, as many of these names may end up on an FBS roster next season. Here are some of the names to keep an eye on:

In seven games he has completed 120 of 194 passes (62%) for 1,458 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions.
In six games he has completed 104 of 150 passes (69%) for 1,414 yards, 16 touchdowns and two interceptions; he also rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns
In seven games he has rushed for 755 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 6.3 yards per carry; he also has 10 receptions for 73 yards
In seven games he has rushed for 765 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 7.7 yards per carry; he also has six receptions for 23 yards
In seven games, Bond has 31 receptions for 428 yards and five touchdowns; he has also returned three punts and three kickoffs this season
In seven games, Davis has 26 receptions for 350 yards and two touchdowns
While he has only played in four games, James has 32 receptions for 379 yards and two touchdowns
In six games, Sweeney has 31 receptions for 580 yards and seven touchdowns; this included five receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown at Navy
In seven games, Lester Jr. has 25 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
In eight games, Barry has 56 tackles and one tackle for loss; against Ball State, he had eight tackles and .5 tackle for loss
In seven games, Haygood has 62 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery
In seven games, the safety has 51 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and seven pass breakups
