Travis Hunter and the Colorado Buffaloes are fresh off the program's best season since 2016, finishing the year with a 9-3 record and a 7-2 mark in Big 12 play.
As the team prepares for an Alamo Bowl matchup against the BYU Cougars, Hunter received a prestigious college football honor.
After already securing the 2024 Heisman Trophy, Hunter was named The Sporting News 2024 College Football Player of the Year.
On Thursday, The Sporting News posted the announcement, sharing a photo of Hunter with the caption "Generational."
The two-way star continues to rack up college football awards after dominating both ends of the field in 2024.

During the 2024 college football season, Hunter recorded 14 touchdowns, 1,152 yards and 92 receptions on the offensive end. On defense, Hunter posted one forced fumble, four interceptions, 11 pass deflections and 31 tackles.
He was the high-graded cornerback on the Buffaloes' roster and led the team in touchdowns, receptions and yards as a receiver.
Hunter will likely be playing in his last college football game on Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET, when the Buffaloes face off against the 10-2 BYU Cougars.
He's looking to lead Colorado to its first 10-win season since 2016. While he has yet to officially declare for the draft, Hunter is viewed as a surefire top-five pick.
