Travis Hunter Visits Deion Sanders Amid Health Issues

Playing for "Prime Time" Sanders likely aided Hunter, as Deion primarily played cornerback, but also occasionally wide receiver in the NFL. Along with that, Sanders excelled as a two-sport professional athlete, also playing in MLB.

Ahead of what could be a historical and impressive debut for Hunter, he paid a visit to Sanders in Texas. The Buffaloes' coach is currently battling an undisclosed health issue.

A new Well Off Media YouTube video arrived on Saturday featuring Hunter and his former coach together in a boat fishing. There's not much conversation as they simply enjoy the time together, relaxing on the lake in Dallas.

"Bring him out! Bring him out! Come on, T. Hunter! There you go!" Sanders says, encouraging the NFL rookie as he reeled in a fish.

As of this report, the video has tallied over 175,000 views and 866-plus comments on YouTube.

Along with the YouTube video, there is also footage on Sanders' Instagram. The video prompted many people to react to seeing Hunter visiting him.

"Travis A real one I pray him and his family continue to win," an Instagram commenter said.

"I love watching Travis with Coach! He was meant to meet Coach PRIME! Follows him and Won that !HEISMAN TROPHY, and NOW HE WITH US IN DUUUUUVAL ! Go Jaguars!!" another commenter wrote on Instagram.

Sanders' son, Deion Sanders Jr., also commented positively about his father's health during the video.

"It’s a beautiful thing. Coach Prime back active, moving around. God is great. Not back active moving around, but it’s progress," Deion Sanders Jr. said in the fishing video.

As of this writing, it's unknown what health setback Sanders is battling. In 2021, he had multiple foot surgeries and two toes amputated on his left foot due to blood clots. In June 2023, ESPN reported about another procedure he had to address the blood clots.

According to USA Today, Coach Sanders hasn't been at his job at Colorado since April, and didn't attend Colorado's annual youth and high school camps this month. The media outlet reported those are part of Sanders' contract as coach.

In late May, Sanders mentioned his undisclosed health issue while on the Say What Needs to be Said podcast with former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel. Near the end of their chat, Sanders indicated he was dealing with something that was a “whole nother level” and had lost about 14 pounds.

It remains unclear when Sanders will return to his job as head coach for the Buffaloes.
