Travis Hunter’s journey has been anything but ordinary.

From two-way dominance on the field to becoming one of the most polarizing stars in college football, Hunter’s rise has been public, passionate, and—at times—under intense scrutiny. But over the weekend, the spotlight shifted from football to something far more personal.

While most of the headlines focused on Hunter’s transition to the NFL, Saturday brought a new chapter: his wedding day.

The moment didn’t just resonate with family or fans—it hit home for those who helped shape him along the way. One of those voices? Coach Rashad “Shadd” Davis, a member of Colorado’s staff and someone who stood beside Hunter through some of his most formative years.

In a post that caught attention on X, Coach Shadd opened up about what it really means to coach someone like Hunter—and why days like this matter more than any stat line.

“Man I am so Grateful,” he wrote. “As a Coach, you don’t do it for touchdowns and catches. You become most proud when you can gain their trust, and they go on in life and continue to lean on what you taught them about the game of Life.”

He wasn’t just talking about Hunter.

The post included a photo of three former Colorado standouts who all made it to the pros: Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Xavier Weaver. And while football took them to the next level, Saturday was about far more than the game.

Hunter tied the knot with longtime partner Leanna Lenee in a private ceremony at The Barn at Faith Farms in Tennessee. The two met back in 2022 and have weathered constant public attention since, especially after going viral during Hunter’s Heisman appearance. But they stayed solid.

And Hunter showed that commitment in more ways than one—ending the night by surprising his new wife with a blacked-out Brabus G-Wagon.
