Flips may not be as prevalent in the transfer portal as they are in high school recruiting, but they do happen. This was the case on Saturday when Colorado was able to pull it off by convincing Baylor defensive tackle Samu Taumanupepe that the Buffaloes made more sense to him than Florida.

Taumanupepe initially committed to the Gators on Thursday, so the flip happened quickly.

And what is Colorado getting?

Taumanupepe is monster of a defensive tackle at 6-foot-3 and 376-pounds. He began his career at Texas A&M before transferring to Baylor prior to the 2025 season. While his statistical production has been minimal, he is considered an extremely intriguing recruit due to his size and athleticism.

Not surprisingly, Coach Prime and Colorado have once again been very aggressive in the transfer portal. Taumanupepe joins a transfer class that also includes important additions like wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr. (Texas), safety Boo Carter (Tennessee), running back Richard Young (Alabama) and defensive end Toby Anene (North Dakota State).

Taumanupepe is the 40th transfer addition for Colorado during this cycle.
