Oregon Ducks junior cornerback Trikweze Bridges has entered the transfer portal. He announced his decision over social media on Tuesday.

"After careful consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal," Bridges wrote in a farewell note. "I want to express my appreciation for the incredible support, guidance, and encouragement I have received during my time as a football player at the University of Oregon. being a part of the Oregon family has been an honor and a privilege."

Bridges is the fifth Oregon player to enter the transfer portal, joining the likes of safeties  Bryan Addison and Daymon David in the secondary, and veteran wide receiver Kris Hutson

The Alabama native was a key piece of the Ducks' defense in each of the past two seasons. In 2023 he recorded 16 total tackles, 3 pass breakups and 0.5 tackles for loss. The 6-foot-3 cornerback originally signed with Oregon as a safety in the class of 2019, but transitioned to play corner during most of his career with the Ducks.

He was one of the main players in Demetrice Martin's cornerback rotation this season along with Khyree Jackson , Jahlil Florence , Dontae Manning and Nikko Reed.

With Bridges entering the transfer portal, Oregon's cornerback depth will likely take another hit heading into 2024 with Jackson having exhausted his college eligibility.

The Ducks have three cornerbacks committed in the 2024 recruiting class in All-Americans Dakoda Fields and Ify Obidegwu from the high school ranks, and Sione Laulea, the nation's No. 3 junior college prospect out of the College of San Mateo.
