Trio of former Oklahoma Sooners legends named to ESPN's All-Time best NFL Draft picks

In an ambitious undertaking, ESPN's Benjamin Solak listed the best NFL draft picks at each draft slot, 1 to 262, of all time. While there are a few spots here that could be thoroughly debated, the Oklahoma Sooners placed a trio of players in the top 100 picks.

Running backs Adrian Peterson and DeMarco Murray, as well as offensive tackle Orlando Brown all made the list for Solak.

Adrian Peterson beat out Champ Bailey for the nod at seventh overall.

"The last non-quarterback to win the MVP award, Peterson led the league in rushing yardage three times in his career: 2008, 2012 and 2015. That's a testament to both his excellence -- the next most recent players with at least three seasons of league-leading production are Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith -- and his longevity. Three times over an eight-year span!"

DeMarco Murray seemingly earned the spot for the 71st overall pick simply by default, but let's not discount his place in the NFL record books. His 2014 season saw him rack up 2,261 scrimmage yards, which were the 12th most in NFL single-season history at the time, and saw him finish as the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year. Murray still holds the Cowboys' single-season rushing record.

"Pick No. 71 isn't a strong group, so I'll let Murray's legendary 2014 season carry him to the top: 392 carries, 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns, with another 57 catches for 416 yards to boot. The 449 touches remains the sixth highest-volume season in NFL history, and given the way backs are managed these days, it will likely stay that way for a while."

Orlando Brown beat out three-time Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Ed McCaffrey to earn the nod at 83rd overall. While Brown has a ring of his own, it was his four straight Pro Bowl nominations that saw him earn the nod over McCaffrey.
