The Tulane Green Wave is another team to exit the Nico Iamaleava sweepstakes.

On3 Sports made the report:

Iamaleava's situation is quite interesting considering the Tennessee Volunteers disagreed with how he was dealing with the NIL contract.

Yet again, another example of how NIL has revolutionized college athletics. And, to be honest, the chances of a similar situation happening in the future are increasing each day.

Tulane finished the 2024 season with a record of 9-5 overall and 7-1 in the American Athletic Conference (AAC).

The team led by head coach Jon Sumrall (who was in the mix to possibly become North Carolina's head coach before Bill Belichick took the position) averaged 35.07 points per game. In comparison, its opponents scored 20.64 points per game.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Darian Mensah threw for 2,723 yards and connected with his receivers for 22 touchdowns — his longest throw of the season stood at 68 yards.

All things considered, the quarterback position seems to be in good hands for Tulane, and for what it's worth, the NIL situation will not be put into play, leading to fewer possible disagreements in the future to come.

As for Iamaleava, there will be one team that decides to meet his needs in terms of NIL, but it will not be the Green Wave (or UNC, who left the conversation on Monday afternoon).

The journey continues along for the Long Beach, California native, and it will be the beginning of a new chapter for one of college football's biggest names.
