Donovan Kaufman and Jaylin Simpson were both ranked in the top 10 in PFF among safeties. Kaufman came in at No. 4 with a 90.3 and Simpson came in at No. 7 with an 87.3.
The only other safety on the list from the SEC was Georgia's Malaki Starks who rounded out the list with an 84.9.
Kaufman, who joined the program as a transfer from Vanderbilt in 2021, had a productive game in Auburn's season opener against UMass.
Kaufman recorded three tackles, two of them being for a loss of yards, one sack and one forced fumble.
Simpson, who has been with Auburn his whole college career, posted three tackles, one fumble recovery and ran an interception back for a touchdown.
Auburn's secondary was expected to be one of the biggest strengths for the team throughout the offseason and that has proven to be a correct assessment thus far.
Auburn will be back in action on Saturday for a contest with Cal Golden Bears. Kick-off is set for 9:30 p.m. CT and ESPN will carry the broadcast live from California Memorial Stadium.
