Senior defensive tackle Ty Robinson leads the list of eight Nebraska football standouts to receive end-of-the-season conference honors.
The Big Ten announced the awards Tuesday, with Robinson the only one to make the first, second or third teams with his Third Team (coaches and media) selection.
The 6-foot-6, 310-pound senior was dominant at times this season, tallying a career-high 33 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks while leading Nebraska in the latter two categories as well as quarterback hurries (six). He anchored a defense that ranked top-20 in the country in total defense, scoring defense and rushing defense.
It’s Robinson’s second career All-Big Ten selection after being an honorable mention last year.
Others to earn honorable mention this year are:
Linebacker Javin Wright was Nebraska’s nominee for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. He overcame health issues to return to the field, totaling 26 tackles this season, including five in the win over Wisconsin. He's also a three-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team honoree.
