Alabama football’s starting quarterback Ty Simpson was asked Tuesday during the Rose Bowl Media Day if he plans to move on to the NFL at the end of the season or stay at Alabama.

“I hadn’t really thought about it much, to be honest with you, just because of the big game coming up,” Simpson said.

The Alabama quarterback has made some head-turning plays throughout the 2025 football season, but he also has had his fair share of ups and downs. Simpson has thrown for 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns during his first season as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback, boosting his NFL Draft stock as a result.

Multiple CBS NFL Draft experts have Simpson listed as a potential first-round pick in their latest mock draft. Ryan Wilson has Simpson slated to go No. 5 overall to the Arizona Cardinals, and Blake Brockermeyer has the Alabama signal caller going No. 4 overall to the New York Jets.

In the meantime, Simpson’s top priority will be leading Alabama against Indiana in the Rose Bowl.
