The UCF Knights will conduct a quarterback competition for the upcoming college football season. UCF also has their eyes on the team's potential quarterback of the future.
Dylan Rizk and former Indiana Hoosiers signal-caller Tayven Jackson are among those expected to compete for the starting gig in 2025. Head coach Scott Frost explained what he is looking for in the next Knights quarterback.
“I suppose the number one characteristic is somebody that's just a playmaker and finds a way to win regardless of the situation,” Frost told reporters on Feb. 12.
UCF is also in the mix for four-star quarterback Kane Archer in the 2026 recruiting class.
The Greenwood, Ark., product name dropped the Knights as one of the teams who has some appeal. On3 has the Arkansas Razorbacks as the heavy favorite to land Archer with the SMU Mustangs and Tennessee Volunteers among the programs also in the mix.

“SMU, UCF, App State, Mizzou, and Louisville are probably the ones catching my eyes the most so far," Archer told On3.com's Steve Wiltfong on Feb. 12.
