The UCF Knights concluded last season with a demoralizing 4-8 record. After the season, head coach Gus Malzahn departed to become the offensive coordinator at Florida State. This move opened the door for Scott Frost, the man behind the Knights' historic undefeated 2017 season, returned to Orlando, Fla. as head coach.

Frost has already started working to turn things around for his second stint at UCF. The Knights managed to secure two new young prospects from the 2026 recruiting class in a span of days.

On Saturday, cornerback Elijah Keys announced his commitment to UCF. The news came two days after offensive tackle Kasiyah Charlton also announced his commitment to the Knights.

Things are trending in the right direction for Frost in his return to UCF.

Keys is a product of Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Fla. The corner received offers from 13 programs, including the South Carolina Gamecocks and Pitt Panthers, per 247Sports.

Charlton, a three-star prospect out of Brunswick, Ga., is ranked as a top 100 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, per On3. The offensive tackle visited the Knights for spring practice on Thursday. Talking to Brandon Helwig from UCF Sports, Charlton described why he was ready to commit to the Knights.

"I didn't really know I was going to do it that day," Charlton explained on Saturday. "But when I got there, I watched the practice and all that. They treated me so well. Then when I was talking to Coach Clark (offensive line coach Shawn Clark) in the team room, it just happened. I told him I was ready to commit."

After Keys committed, Charlton made the future UCF corner feel at home, responding "Welcome to the fam brudda⚔️" to his post on X.
