UCLA Bruins starting quarterback Ethan Garbers detailed his special connection with wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant during the team's 35-22 LA Bowl victory over the Boise State University Broncos postgame, per UCLA Communications.

The 6'1", 205-pound sophomore wideout transferred to UCLA after spending his freshman season with the Cal Golden Bears.

“All the work we put in since he got here last January. That whole year – in the summer, in the winter, in the spring," Garbers said of their chemistry. "Working on that and working on those throws. At that point when we’re out there, it’s just muscle memory. We’ve done it so many times. We called it and we got the right look and we executed.”

In the game, Sturdivant notched four receptions for a total of 142 yards (averaging 35.5 yards), including one touchdown.
