Unexpected Travis Kelce News Emerges on Saturday

Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance Saturday amid preparations for the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2026 campaign. The veteran tight end stepped away from his NFL duties to return to a familiar place with his brother Jason Kelce.

The Kelce brothers were in Cincinnati for the Bearcats’ home opener against Boston College, where Jason was among the former Cincinnati stars expected to attend.

The appearance comes after Cincinnati announced in August that the former Philadelphia Eagles center had been selected for the James P. Kelly Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the school’s 50th Anniversary Class. His official induction is scheduled for Oct. 23.

Jason and Travis built their football legacies at Cincinnati. Jason played for the Bearcats from 2006 to 2010, transforming from a walk-on linebacker into a three-year starter and earning All-BIG EAST honors twice. Travis followed his older brother, playing at Cincinnati from 2008 to 2012 before becoming a third-round pick by Kansas City in 2013.

The brothers have remained closely connected to their Ohio roots and continue to show support for their hometown and college teams. Their Cincinnati ties have remained especially strong through their “New Heights” podcast and frequent appearances around Bearcats athletics.

Travis, however, will soon turn his focus completely back to Kansas City. The Chiefs are preparing for their 2026 season after missing the playoffs last year.

Kelce is entering his 14th NFL season and returning for another run with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Kansas City will open the regular season at home against the Denver Broncos on Sept. 14 in a “Monday Night Football” matchup.
