The UNLV Rebels unintentionally gave Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel a big shoutout this week.
On Tuesday, ESPN's Bill Connelly put out his list of the top coaches in college football using his SP+ rankings.
Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel was ranked No. 2 (above Georgia's Kirby Smart) in Connelly's rankings.
UNLV head coach Dan Mullen was ranked No. 6.
On Tuesday afternoon, UNLV football's official Twitter/X.com account tweeted a graphic of the top 10 to highlight Mullen's ranking.
Fans who were unaware of the rankings, however, were immediately drawn to Heupel's name appearing above Smart's

Rankings -- even objective ones like these from Connelly -- don't mean anything. This won't help Heupel win a single game on Saturdays this fall.
