The early signing period for college football begins Wednesday, Dec. 4 and runs through Friday, Dec. 6. It has become the popular time to sign for many top recruits across the country rather than waiting until February.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are aiming to sign the No. 1 class in the country for the 2025 cycle. The Longhorns currently have the No. 4 class in the nation according to 247Sports composite rankings. The latest addition to the class was five-star cornerback Kade Phillips who Texas successfully flipped from LSU on Tuesday.
Another massive addition could follow.
An updated recruiting prediction was entered for five-star athlete Michael Terry III on Wednesday. 247Sports' Jason Scheer entered a crystal ball for the Longhorns to land Terry with a medium confidence level.

Terry is ranked the No. 1 athlete in the nation for the 2025 recruiting class and the 8 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports. He's a multi-sport athlete who excels in track, something Sarkisian's staff heavily values.
The Alamo Heights (San Antonio, TX) product made the Navy All-American Bowl roster and 247Sports' 2025 Freaks List.
If Texas is able to add Terry to its group in the near future, the No. 1 class will be well within reach.
