Fox Sports analyst Urban Meyer had plenty to say about recent comments made by UCF and former Nebraska head coach Scott Frost regarding his time with the Cornhuskers.
Frost, who both played for and later coached Nebraska, reflected on his time in Lincoln during Big 12 Media Day, offering a blunt piece of advice: "I don't take the wrong job."
The comments quickly drew attention, including Meyer, who addressed them during an episode of the Triple Option Podcast.
“We’ve all stood at the podium, and we say something like, ‘Ouch, why did I say that?’ And you can’t take it back. I’m sure he would want to take it back. If it’s not meant to be, it’s a direct shot at Nebraska,” Meyer said.
He adds, I know Scott Frost, a helluva coach, and I’ve known him a long time. That didn’t go well. I actually had people send it to me and say, ‘Wow, look at this.’”
Meyers went on to recall a time in his own coaching journey when he left Bowling Green for Utah in 2003 and the uncertainty that came with it.
“You do take jobs, and you love the place. When I left Bowling Green and I went to Utah, I loved Bowling Green… I get that; you sometimes put your feet down somewhere and you’re like, Uh oh, this ain’t Kansas,” said Meyer about coaches sometimes regretting a move they make.
Frost's tenure at Nebraska was a rocky one. He finished with a 16-37 record before being let go in 2022.
