U.S. Olympics Star Gabby Thomas Engaged To Be Married

U.S. Olympian Gabby Thomas and her longtime boyfriend had some exciting news to share this week.

After first dating in 2022, the 28-year-old gold medalist is officially engaged to be married to her partner and fellow Ivy League athlete Spencer McManes. The two announced their big next step in an interview with Vogue magazine where Thomas showed off her incredible diamond ring.

The couple had rented a Travis Heights Airbnb for their vacation together and that's where Thomas found McManes on their rooftop surrounded by flowers and a professional photographer.

"That's when I realized, 'Oh my gosh, this is happening,'" she told the publication. "Normally he's very bad with surprises — and this was the one surprise I think I've ever witnessed him keep."

McManes played football at Yale while Thomas did her thing on the track at Harvard. But their relationship started with some lighthearted social media flirting after Gabby followed him on IG for his pizza review content.

"I'm a huge fan of pizza myself — I was like, 'This looks like really good quality content,'" she laughed. "Almost immediately — he DM'd me."

"I got the notification that I had a new follower. I was like, 'That's crazy! Gabby Thomas?'" McManes co-signed. "I immediately DM'd her and asked, 'What did I do to earn a follow?'"

That eventually led to their first date at a speakeasy and subsequent link-up at a pizza spot. "I fell in love with him despite the fact he went to Yale," Gabby joked.

McManes has been Thomas' No. 1 fan along her journey and they certainly make a beautiful pairing. Congrats to them as get ready to tie the knot in the future!
