USC Continues Brutal Run, Loses Former No. 1 Overall Prospect To Transfer Portal
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

USC football has lost another former 5-star prospect to the transfer portal.

Korey Foreman, the former No. 1 overall prospect in the 2021 signing class according to On3Sports, entered the portal Tuesday afternoon after appearing in 23 games for the Trojans across the past 3 seasons.

Forman is the third former 5-star prospect to enter the portal across the past 48 hours, joining QB Malachi Nelson and CB Domani Jackson.

USC Loses Another 5-star

So, how does the loss of Foreman compare to the losses of Nelson and Jackson? It’s a strange story.

Foreman’s first season in Southern California was strong. The then-freshman DL totaled 11 tackles with 2.5 sacks. It was all downhill from there.

With Head coach Lincoln Riley incoming from Oklahoma, Foreman found himself lost in the shuffle. He totaled 13 tackles in 2022 and just 1 tackle in 2023. Now, he joins 15 fellow USC players in the transfer portal.

Foreman as A Prospect

Foreman, as mentioned, was the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2021 coming out of high school. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 3 overall prospect and Rivals as the No. 4.

Foreman hails from USC’s neck of the woods. The Corona, California native attended Centennial High School and drew comparisons to New Orleans Saints’ Cam Jordan.

The 6-4, 235-pound Foreman chose USC over offers from all around the country, but especially LSU and Georgia. Foreman was originally committed to Clemson before decommitting in April of 2020.
