USC Football: Trojans Standout Defender Shares His Thoughts After Sloppy Road Win
USA TODAY Sports

The Trojans came to Colorado and beat the Buffaloes 48-41.

The biggest concern against the tight win was the fact that the Trojans were 22-point favorites heading into the game and also allowed an insane 564 total yards.

After the game, star defensive end, Solomon Byrd took to X to share his thoughts on the recent question marks and conversation after the win.

Byrd on the year has 4.5 sacks and 13 total tackles along with 3 forced fumbles.

Byrd is one of the senior leaders of the Trojan Defense and he took to social media to share his thoughts on the recent comments made toward the team's defense.

Improvement is the name of the game and the Trojans do need improvement on the defensive end but at the end of the day, the team is 5-0 and they have looked great with Caleb Williams well on his way to possibly another Heisman.

The Trojan defensive unit must work on some things, most importantly getting stops on third downs and forcing turnovers.

In five games for the Trojans, the team only has 6 total turnovers, 2 interceptions, and 4 fumble recoveries.

The unit has 16 sacks on the season which is a good number but the turnovers forced are something lacking among the team's many strong suits.

The Trojans are slated to take on the Arizona Wildcats next week which is a team that has a -5 turnover ratio and has turned the ball over 8 times in 5 games.

If the Trojans want to turn their defensive woes around, it will be against the Wildcats.
