The 2024 college football regular season came to an end on Saturday and you're about to see hundreds - if not thousands - of players entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.
On Monday, USC Trojans quarterback Miller Moss announced a decision on his future. Moss, a junior who started nine games for the Trojans in 2024, was benched in favor of UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava earlier in November. Moss had thrown for 2,555 yards, 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions. USC went 6-6 this season, finishing in ninth place in the Big Ten.
Miller announced his transfer decision while speaking with ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel.
The former four-star quarterback recruit believes that it's time to move on.
"I really enjoyed my time at USC," Moss told ESPN. "It was transformative for my life as a whole and for me growing up for the last few years. I'm thankful. I gave that program everything I had.
"There comes a point where there's a time to move on to new opportunities, and I'm hoping to better myself as a person and a player."
Moss is reportedly eyeing a "championship caliber" program heading into the 2025 season.
He wants to compete at the "highest level."
"I think that's something that I'm excited about in terms of the process," he said. "Being able to dive into different systems with different coaches and places and see what I gravitate toward in that process."
According to ESPN, Miller is expected to draw serious interest.
There's expected to be a strong market for Moss, 22, who brings the combination of age, experience and production, which are generally coveted in the NCAA transfer portal. Moss threw for 378 yards against LSU, threw for three touchdowns against Michigan, Wisconsin and Maryland and also ran for a pair of touchdowns.
Moss has a simple message for his future team, too.
"There's nothing I wouldn't do for the guys in the locker room and guys I compete with. I'm hesitant to sell myself, but I have every confidence in myself as a player and a leader."
